TECHNICAL ASSESMENT OF THE PROJECT

Technical aspects in the development of renewable energy projects play a key role in ensuring that the project is developed, built, and operated in an efficient and sustainable manner.

Every project that comes to our team—both at the initial stage of site selection (so-called greenfield) and with advanced Ready to Build status—is subject to an in-depth technical assessment. This analysis enables the investor to make an informed decision on the next steps for the project.

In the following article, we would like to briefly share our knowledge and experience in the field of project analysis and outline what value a well-executed technical analysis represents for the development and implementation of RES projects.

EVALUATION OF THE AREA

At the initial stage of developing a renewable energy project, such as wind or photovoltaic power plants, a site assessment is carried out to identify the location and production potential. This process includes an analysis of topography, solar exposure, meteorological conditions, and possible obstacles, such as trees or buildings, that may affect the efficiency of energy production or even preclude such investments. Based on this data, the optimal siting and configuration of installations can be developed based on the available acreage.

Finding suitable locations for renewable energy projects can be a challenge, especially in densely populated areas or areas with competing land uses. The terrain, the location of current and planned grid infrastructure, the location of the drainage network, as well as the environmental location of the site (verification of forest cover as well as possible location in environmentally protected areas) are all subject to analysis.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONSIDERATIONS AND DESIGN COMPATIBILITY

Projects that are at a more advanced stage of development must undergo verification for compliance with design guidelines, technical, environmental, and planning standards regarding their location. RES projects, in order to be completed without complications, must comply with a wide range of regulations and permits, making it complex and time-consuming to bring them up to current standards. The use of advanced tools for spatial location analysis, supported by thorough verification of available data, ensures precise identification of the area covered by the investment. This makes it possible to accurately assess the compliance of the planned project with current regulations and spatial plans.

SUPPORT DURING PERMITTING

The process of obtaining the necessary permits for an investment is not only challenging but can also bring delays that have a significant impact on the project schedule. Often, administrative decisions contain provisions that can limit flexibility or even prevent an investment from reaching its full potential. The need to amend documentation and obtain additional permits can lead to lengthy processes that require careful oversight and coordination.
In this context, it is crucial not only to analyze decisions from a legal perspective but also from a technical perspective to ensure smooth project implementation and minimize the risk of delays.

TECHNOLOGY AND EXPERIENCE

The verification and optimization of RES projects requires specialized skills and knowledge from our team, which we are constantly expanding. The tools we use allow us to determine the potential of a location in terms of installed capacity and create an installation model at an early stage of the investment. Then, using specialized software, we determine the anticipated energy production, which allows us to optimize the technical solutions used.
Our approach, based on a combination of expert knowledge and the use of advanced technological tools, translates into the effectiveness of our actions. As a result, we are able to reduce the risk of design errors and achieve optimal production results, which translates into customer satisfaction and a positive impact on the environment.
